From Gem to Jewel
Our studio is based in La Coruña, Spain, where every By Mariel piece begins with inspiration. We start by creating moodboards, ideas that come from everywhere: the sea, the colors of nature, travel, old magazines, textures, Pinterest..
We’re drawn to natural gemstones and a bohemian soul mixed with a touch of elegance. We love refined gemstone cuts and a subtle shine, made wearable for every day by pairing them with colorful threads.
Sourcing & Assembly
Our gemstones come from Jaipur, India, one of the world’s most renowned centers for fine gemstones, known for its centuries-old tradition of stone cutting and craftsmanship.
In the studio, we carefully select each stone and craft every piece knot by knot. The process feels both relaxing and meditative — a true labor of mindfulness that connects our hands, our heart, and your jewelry.
What Makes Us Special
By Mariel is a world of contrasts and harmony. We love mixing cultures, colors, and materials combining the luxurious with the simple, the refined with the effortless.
Mariel’s life itself is a mix of opposites. Born in Venezuela with Spanish heritage, and having lived in England, she carries a blend of Caribbean warmth and European sophistication. Through her creations, she seeks that beautiful grey in the middle, where everything can coexist and complement each other.
We also value conscious creation. Every piece is made by us, in our studio, in limited quantities. We produce only what we sell, avoiding overstock and waste, so each design feels special, cared for, and infused with intention.
Each jewel carries a little bit of that story, a mix of cultures, materials, and emotions, made to be worn, loved, and last.
